Yet, you have to be aware that some vocabulary carries a completely different meaning in \u201cwasei-eigo\u201d, also known as \u201cJapanglish\u201d. Aircon is obviously the abbreviation of \u201cair-conditioner.\u201d\u00a0 You might imagine glass-door refrigerator in a supermarket when you hear the word \u201ccooler,\u201d but it actually is the short form of \u201cair-cooler.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. It is not about mutual consent or permit, but it actually means \u201celectrical socket\/ outlet\u201d. Some said this Japanglish is originated from the English phrase \u201cconcentric plug\u201d in the Meiji Period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. This is definitely the vocabulary you need when shopping at a household appliance store.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. Is he going to burn you alive? No! In Japanglish, \u201cstove\u201d means heater, while \u201ckonro\/\u30b3\u30f3\u30ed\u201d means stove in Japanese.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5. One electrics industrial company decided to name it as \u201cdenshi renji\u201d, as the word \u201celectronics\u201d implies a high-end brand and high-tech image in Japanese market. A microwave oven has gradually become a necessary and convenient item in every house. Another fun fact is the verb \u201dchin suru\/ \u30c1\u30f3\u3059\u308b\u201d. \u201cChin\u201d is the onomatopoeia of the &#8220;ding&#8221; sound it made when the food in microwave is ready. Next time try to ask the staff to &#8220;chin&#8221; your cold bento in the convenience store.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6. It is relatively cheaper than other flats as the construction material is mainly wood\/ light metal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">7. Any condominium which is three-storey or above, usually concrete based, and with security, is called \u201cmansion\u201d in Japan. So do not get over-excited when someone invites you to sleepover at his\/her mansion!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8. Besides from local department stores, multi-functional department stores with residential and commercial buildings are the new trend in Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">9.
